Hit that fear spot... · 26 August 04

Oh my god! The secretaries at work decided they needed to have a talk to me at lunchtime today, as I’m a single girl and living alone. They started off by chatting about the news this morning, with a confirmed attack by the area’s serial rapist of seven years. They then gently edged towards the fact that I’m living on my own at the moment. This led through to a conversation about the fact that for the last person, he broke into their house and was waiting for them when they came home. Wow, how much did I need that?? I always go to and from the house alone, and I get to my house through a dark poorly lit alley with heavy undergrowth and an empty house next door. Boy am I looking forward to going home tonight! The only think I’ve really got going for me is that my life is almost as far as possible from being routine…
