Blankness would be a blessing · 2 March 07

The tendrils of the past won’t leave me alone. Change your attitude, they all said, and I finally realised they were right. I thought this would usher in some miraculous change, overnight things would change, the world would slot into place. Yet it isn’t so easy to banish the way that things are. The blank canvas I crave seems no closer to home.
