She hoped and prayed that there wasn't an afterlife. Then she realised there was a contradiction involved here and merely hoped that there wasn't an afterlife.

Housemate... · 24 November 04

Things with my housemate are pretty much as ever. She finally got back on Saturday after having been away for the whole of November (I bet she didn’t vote). Then she was gone again on Monday and is due back after Thanksgiving. I’m probably getting far too used to having the house to myself.

One thing I was heavily unimpressed by is that I finally figured out this morning that she had turned the manual heat up to 70F and left it there!!! No wonder I haven’t been able to get up in the morning since Monday. Not to mention paying for all that heat!! I wish I was better at bringing up these sorts of things with housemates. She, of course has no problem doing so. I greet her on her return on Saturday, and she immediately starts having a go at me for leaving the doors unlocked when I am at home! I mean really! Whether I choose to feel that level of paranoia is surely an entirely personal choice. If she wants the doors locked when she is in the house, she can do it. But when I am home alone it is my choice. I lock them at night, and when I go out… It’s not like she has any possessions there to be worried about… sigh…
